About us

Good Vibrations Strings is run by luthier (that’s a violin maker!) Laura Wallace of Clement & Wallace Violins and music educator Brigitte Ouellet.

The daughter of a woodworker, Laura grew up watching the transformation of tree by hand and tool. She began playing the violin as a child and developed a deep love not only for the music but for the instrument itself. She makes highly sought-after violins through her shop, Clement & Wallace Violins, and also sources and maintains excellent student rental instruments as Good Vibrations Strings. As of 2024, Laura is the leader of the qathet Fiddlers.

A fiddler since she was five years old, Brigitte is an enthusiastic teacher who helps her students cultivate a lifelong love of music. She is a certified Musikgarten early childhood music education teacher and has over twelve years experience teaching violin. While she loves working with children, Brigitte also enjoys teaching older adults who are coming to the violin for the first time or returning to the instrument after a long absence. It’s never too late to try it!

Our goal at Good Vibrations Strings is to support families and musicians. We are both passionate about making the world of music accessible to everyone. If you have any questions about where to start… send us an email! We also keep an instrument care page to help you get familiar with the “care and keeping” of your instrument.

We live in beautiful qathet BC but have customers up and down the Sunshine Coast, the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and beyond.

We love to hear from you! Don’t hesitate to get in touch.
